Contrary to what you might think from the industry recognised name; it’s not about textile printing!
In fact, it works best on hard, smooth surfaces. The printing process uses ultra violet curing technology to create the graphic. Once printed, roughly cut our around the piece (you don’t need to weed the graphic), peel off the backing film and press firmly onto the surface of the item. If it is going onto a flat surface you can use a squeegee or equivalent to ensure it is firmly attached. Then gently peel off the backing film to leave the graphic on the item.
In principle, there are three elements: the UV DTF printer, the UV DTF inks and UV DTF film (please contact us if you are interested in this and we can talk through the options).
With the InkTec UV DTF Printer, there is a choice of either a 60cm or 30cm print width. It also features auto-feeding, white ink stirring and circulation, auto ink supply while printing and laminating at the same time. When used in collaboration with the UV DTF Film and UV DTF Inks using a combination of CMYK plus White and Varnish, it delivers vivid colours.
Wherever you want to take this technology; it lends itself equally to short run, bespoke personalisation through to higher production and finishing.
It is good for users to have a good level of design software experience such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop etc. And it would be good to also have Adobe Photoshop, CoralDRAW (or equivalent) software and skills to create your images.
SAI RIP and Print EXP software comes as standard and the SAI RIP Software will convert any image files to a printable format. It is also important to make sure the laptop/PC that is connected to the UV DTF printer has a current Windows operating system.
