Despite the industry-recognised name, UV DTF isn’t just for textiles!
In fact, it works best on hard, smooth surfaces. The process uses UV curing technology to create the graphic on a special film. Once printed, simply cut around the design (no weeding needed), peel away the backing, and press it firmly onto your item. For flat surfaces, you can use a squeegee or similar tool to help it bond evenly. Then gently peel off the film to leave a clean, professional-looking graphic on the product.
In principle, there are three elements: the UV DTF printer, the UV DTF inks and UV DTF film (please contact us if you are interested in this and we can talk through the options).
With the InkTec UV DTF Printer, you can choose either a 30cm or 60cm print width. It features auto-feeding, while ink stirring and circulation, automatic ink supply during printing, and simultaneous printing and laminating.
Wherever you’re creating short-run, bespoke personalisation or moving into higher-volume production, this technology is built to deliver a premium finish with ease.
A good level of design software experience is recommended, such as Adobe Illustrator or Photoshop. It’s also helpful to have access to Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW (or an equivalent program) and the skills to create and edit your artwork.
SAi RIP and Print EXP software is supplied as standard. The SAi RIP software converts your image files into a printable format, ready for production. You’ll also need to ensure the laptop or PC connected to the UV DTF printer is running a current Windows operating system.
