InkTec’s JETRIX printers installed at Newman Displays, made a lasting impression at the highly anticipated world premiere of ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ in London’s Leicester Square at the end of 2022. The premiere was attended by a star-studded audience including director James Cameron and the film’s cast members. Newman Displays’ visually stunning backdrops and signage, printed by a JETRIX LXiR320 UV LED Roll-to-Roll Printer, dazzled attendees and packed a real punch.
‘Avatar: The Way of Water’, is the highly anticipated sequel to the ground-breaking film “Avatar”. In just over a month, it officially grossed over $2,024 billion at the box office, the original made a total of $2.9 billion globally, when it came out in 2009 – 13 years ago! With a further three sequels planned over the next several years, the ‘Avatar’ franchise is here to stay; with each one taking full advantage of the latest developments in motion capture and CGI.
Hailed as a cinematic masterpiece with its use of motion capture technology and stunning visual effects, ‘Avatar: The Way of Water’ – has been widely praised by critics and audiences alike. It’s, therefore, no surprise it won the Oscar for Best Visual Effects at the 95th Academy Awards earlier this month.
